The WOI story

WOI Global was founded in 2014 by Ana Reed who pioneered the idea before the #metoo movement started. After working in large global companies, Ana saw how successful women needed to ‘do the work’ in order to become truly impactful women of inspiration.

WOI Global recognizes that many female leaders have struggled to lead from their true feminine qualities while working in alpha male cultures. As the #metoo movement has demonstrated, many women hold onto their past in fear of retribution, therefore it is an important journey for women to set themselves free so they can lead from their true purpose and become inspiring global leaders.

So far, WOI Global has interviewed and worked with over 30 top female global CEOs through the BBC CEO guru and CEO Masterclass and has used these stories as best practice to help women all around the world.

In 2017, WOI Global hosted its inaugural retreat in Hawaii which attracted top female CEOs and leaders from Silicon Valley, China and Europe.

Now in 2020, WOI Global continues to coach female leaders around the world as well as partner with companies to help change the dialogue around empowering women in leadership positions.

We are now in a situation where the suppression of the feminine has become internalized, even in most women. The sacred feminine, because it is suppression is felt by many women as emotional pain.  In fact, it has become part of their pain-body together with the accumulated pain suffered by women over millennia through childbirth, rape, slavery, torture and violent death.

But things are changing rapidly now.  With many people becoming more conscious, the ego is losing its hold on the human mind.  Because the ego was never as deeply rooted in women, it is losing its hold on women more quickly than on men
— Eckhart Tolle

WOI Global is about women getting real, deeply transforming and leading from a truly integrated self. It is a movement focused on unlocking women so they can lead a new frontier for leadership in the world.

The Evolution of Female Leadership

1) The Pioneering Leaders

Meg Whitman - These leaders are generally late generation x and baby boomers, these women were often faced with being the “token woman”. Their leadership style is forthright and no nonsense in order to make a difference in the male-dominated boys clubs. It is these women who have been the pioneers for women in business and beyond and have left a strong foothold for other women to step up as leaders.

3) The Mission Inspired Leaders

Arianna Huffington - These leaders are generally very entrepreneurial with a strong mission. Thy have generally integrated their life experiences and developed leadership philosophies that they use as a guiding compass to their work. There is less of a separation between work and personal, they are a global force and are very good at collaborating, empowering and setting a strong global mission.

2) The Collaborative Leaders

Carolyn McCall - These leaders are generally generation x and have been exposed to more equality than Pioneer leaders and have the confidence to bring their innate female qualities to work. These leaders have worked in the patriarchal phenomena, ‘when there is a women in the room, things just get talked about more’. They posses the qualities of being able to listen, care, understand and communicate very well..

4) Life purpose leaders

Malala Yousafzai - Driven by a higher purpose, are often globally recognized for their work in advocacy and have freed their voice from male-dominated leadership constraints. They’ve started a chain of women of inspiration and are actively engaged with being a role model for women.
